A few days ago, I was a bit nostalgic. Watched some cartoons of my childhood. Listened to the music of my teen years. And stumbled upon this video I made when I was 19 years old.
I was just starting my journey. I was transitioning into veganism, learning about spirituality and exploring a new lifestyle. During this stage in my life, I was ridiculed by friends saying I wasn’t black enough, I shouldn’t do yoga because I’ll lose my curves, blah, blah, BLAH! Their words negatively effected my growth. So I created this video as a pep talk to myself.
And even though I’ve successfully made it through that situation. The lesson in this pep talk still help me to this day. Hopefully, it will help someone else.
Have you ever had someone try to stop you from your goals of creating a better life for yourself? What did you do to stay on track?
